Exploring Kuching – Atap Street

July 19, 2011 at 10:10 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , , )

After Brooke Memorial, we walked over to Atap Street.

Atap Street #1

Seriously, I love this street. It was a serene street and everything here was so ancient (in a good way :)). Most of the shops here were run by Chinese elders. I think they have been here since they were young. Maybe they have been here even since their grandparents or great grandparents’ time. Anyways, in my opinion, Chinese culture is very well-maintained here.

It was almost 11 a.m. when we reached Atap Street and we hadn’t had any food then. So, it was time for food hunting.

We had our first Kuching meal in this small shop

Shaved ice

Rojak

Nyonya Kuih

After having our brunch, we walked along Atap Street. I had an indescribable feeling as we marched on and I took as many pictures as I could to capture my memories here. I was so glad I actually spent time exploring Atap Street. It was so much different from hectic streets in KL.

Exploring Kuching – Brooke Memorial

July 18, 2011 at 10:35 pm (Uncategorized) (, , , , )

I visited Kuching some time ago back in June 2011, on my birthday week. It’s kinda considered as my first trip after stepping into working life. It’s a woman’s nature to overspend, that’s why I only have limited budget to travel locally. Anyways, Kuching is a good place to travel 🙂

The city is not too hectic, in fact, it was quite peaceful and quiet during the weekends (as described by the taxi drivers in Kuching).

View from 360 Hotel

My friend and I stayed at 360 Hotel for the whole trip. It was not strategically located and most of the places we visited weren’t within walking distances. Nevertheless, it was a good hotel 🙂

We started first day with Brooke Memorial.

Brooke Memorial (facing Kuching Waterfront)

This historical place has turned into a flea market where the locals sell souvenirs to tourists.

Muka Sir Charles Brooke

Volkswagens were displayed in front of Brooke Memorial too.

Nice ride

Kinda reminded me of my lil' red Myvi 🙂

Labour Day with Donnie

May 1, 2010 at 5:44 pm (Uncategorized) (, , )

1st of May 2010, my first labour day since i started to worker as labour engineer. Nothing special about today except that all the shopping malls were cramped with people and the roads were jammed with cars. I went to Tropicana Mall for movie today. I watched Iron Man 2 and Ip Man 2. These 2 movies were hot and high in demand. All the seats were taken, I guess the first part of these movies did quite well.

Let’s talk about Iron Man2 first. Hmm…Overall, the movie was okay. I rate 3.8 out of 5. I totally disagreed when my friend told me Scarlet Johansson was hot. I never thought that she was sexy until I saw her in the movie today. She was even hotter than Gwyneth Paltrow. However, I kinda prefer the first movie because it had more “wow” factor compared to the 2nd part of the movie. The iron man was still slutty as ever and finally he and his secretary got together, bravely fell in love with each other. Not much surprises, good guys won, bad guys died, hero saved leng lui. I only liked the end part of the movie where things got fired up a bit.

Ip Man 2. I rate 4.5 out of 5. This is one of the best chinese martial art films I’ve ever seen. Seriously, Donnie Yen was awesomely hot!!! I enjoyed the movie by just looking at him. haha, silly me. He was such as a good actor . Part of the reason I liked this movie was because Donnie Yen acted in it and the choreography was brilliantly designed 🙂  Sammi Sammo Hung did a great job in this movie as well. Frankly speaking, this movie and all the actors gave me a very good impression.I’m so running out of words to describe how good the movie was >.<

Went out with a friend to see a movie last Saturday. We watched When in Rome. The movie was alright. A typical romantic comedy with a typical happy ending. Nothing much to be analysed or commented. Went for nice japanese food after movie at Tokyo G 🙂

New toy

April 5, 2010 at 12:10 pm (Uncategorized) (, )

Just got myself a pair of new headphones…hehe

This is the finest pair of headphones I’ve ever had.

#1 AKG K317

#2 lanyard design

#3 it comes with a pouch

#4 classy design - brilliant combination of red, grey and white colours

#5 enjoying the music from my mp3 via my headphones...bahahahha

It works like a Hi-Fi being shrunk to fit nicely into my ears which is just my cup of tea 😀 This headphones make bad singers sound worse and good singers sound better.

Life becomes better with good headphones delivering nice musics 🙂
